Announcing Dublin Ladies Football Monster Draw

Over the last number of years you will have watched Dublin rise
to the pinnacle of Ladies Gaelic Football in Ireland. 5 County teams
have collected numerous Leinster titles and made All-Ireland Final
appearances at Senior in 2003 and U -14 so far in 2004. Add to this
the fantastic success of our Club teams in national competition
and the growth in membership of an average of 20% per annum, and
you soon realise what a leading light we are in the Capital.

The Dublin Ladies Football County Board currently co-ordinate the
financial support for the 5 County teams and the running costs and
organisation of Club Championship, Leagues, League Cups, Feile,
etc for 188 teams resulting in over 90 matches per week at all age
levels.

Additional work at development level is currently receiving much
needed attention with the appointment of 2 Development Officers,
a first for Ladies Football in Dublin.

The Dublin picture as it currently stands could be described using
words such as; Exciting, Thriving, Growing, Successful, Leading,
..to name but a few.

So…an all-round success story??? Well…almost……..

Due to the phenomenal growth in the number of teams participating
over the last few years, the fantastic success of our county teams,
and the areas of development that just cannot go unattended any
longer, the Dublin Ladies Football County Board urgently needs financial
support.

To this end it was agreed at the June Co. Board meeting that every
registered member would be asked to sell just ONE €10 ticket. This,
it was felt, would not create an onerous burden on anyone and, in
one swoop, would fully address the financial situation for the County
for 2004.

Each club will be issued a quota of tickets based on the number
of members registered by them this year.

The draw will be held at the Co. Board meeting on August 17th.
