The Cork half back starred for the Rebelettes against Galway as the All Ireland champions took a major step on the way to securing a place in the last eight. The St Valentines star who received the Player of the Match Award for her performance against Galway is chasing her third consecutive Senior All Ireland title and was a TG4 All Star in 2005. The clash with Galway in Group 2 on the opening weekend of the Championship was a vital game for both counties as both harbored serious aspirations of All Ireland glory. Cork emerged as the winners and the performance of Corkery played no small part in the Rebelettes victory. Speaking at the Award presentation in Croke Park, Corkery said, “The game against Galway was a fierce tough match. We had a great first half but did not play as a unit in the second.
