Cabinteely Ladies to set World Record

Cabinteely Ladies to set World Record

Cabinteely Ladies Football in association with Cabinteely
GAA is aiming for a world first in Gaelic Football on 28th
June 2003. On Saturday 28th June 2003, Cabinteely GAA (Ladies
Football section) is planning to set a new world record.

How?

Cabinteely GAA is holding the longest Gaelic Football game
ever held. Throw-in is scheduled for 11am on Saturday 28th
June 2003. It is hoped to break the 12 hour barrier and
celebrations for this world record achievement are planned
for 11.01 pm on the day! This idea developed from an initial
concept by creative genius and avid club supporter, Aidan
Bracken.

It was enthusiastically taken on by the entire club and
is intended to
1) Set a new world record to a standard that will achieve
listing in the Guinness Book of Records
2) Raise the profile of Ladies Football in Ireland, particularly
in Dublin
3) Increase awareness of Cabinteely Ladies Football in its
catchment area
4) Increase participation of girls and women in field sport
activities
5) Get funding for the club’s activities through sponsorship
and other related initiatives.
