Carnacon Seek Redemption in Vhi Healthcare Club Senior Final

Carnacon Seek Redemption in Vhi Healthcare Club Championship
Final

Club Captains Gathered at Croke Park ahead of Finals
Carnacon will be looking to make amends for Mayo’s capitulation
in this year’s Senior All Ireland final as they take on Cork’s Inch
Rovers for the Vhi Healthcare Senior Club Championship title. Six
of the Carnacon side started against Cork in the senior final in
Croke Park back in September and they will feel that they have a
point to prove against their opponents from the People’s Republic.
Carnacon’s list of county stars includes Cora Staunton, Sharon and
Caroline McGing, Claire Egan and Fiona McHale and as well as exercising
their all Ireland demons Carnacon will want to go one step further
than being last year’s losing finalists.

This will be a first appearance for Inch Rovers in a national club
final but they have some experienced county players of their own
with Ciara and Angela Walsh in their ranks. Inch ended fellow Cork
side Donoughmore’s dominance in Munster on their way to the final.

Another Cork side Mourneabbey will contest the Intermediate club
final with Derry club Glen. Mourneabbey have a host of players from
Cork’s All Ireland Minor Championship winning side while Glen were
a senior club last season and remain a very strong outfit. The senior
and intermediate finals will take place as a double-header on Sunday
25th November at St Rynaghs GAA Club, Banagher, Co. Offaly. TG4
will be airing deferred coverage of the senior final on the 25th.

The Junior final between West Clare Gaels and Foxrock Cabinteely
will take place on Sunday 2nd December. Geraldine Giles, Uactaran
Peil Gael na mBán, said, “The club championships have again provided
supporters with an excellent standard of football and high levels
of excitement. I have no doubt that the finals will showcase the
depth of talent in our game at grassroots level and I would like
to thank our sponsors Vhi Healthcare for their continued support.”
Declan Moran, Director of Marketing & Business Development, Vhi
Healthcare, said, “Vhi Healthcare is very proud to be associated
with the All-Ireland Club Championships. This is the second year
of our partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and
it has been very successful to date. We would like to congratulate
all of the teams who have made it to the finals. It is a significant
achievement and they have all battled hard to get to this level.
We look forward to some exciting games in the finals and wish all
of the teams, players, coaches and supporters the very best of luck.”
