Munster Championship

Championship time for Cork U-14s,Junior & Senior

Cork field 3 teams on Saturday 24th June at u 14,
Junior & Senior.

First up are the u14s who contest the Munster u 14 A final against
Kerry. The game is timed for 2pm in Carrigadrohid.Cork were asked
severe questions by a very good Clare team in the semi final and
no doubt Kerry will ask similiar questions in the final.Great games
have been witnessed between the two counties down through the years
and no doubt a football fest awaits again in the final.

The Cork Junior side will begin the defence of their
Munster crown when they face Waterford in Ballyduff at 6.30pm.Both
sides had a mixed league campaign but there is never much between
them at the end of the day. With the top two teams qualifying for
the Munster final both sets of players will be going all out for
a win.

The senior team meet old rivals Waterford in Fraher
Field Dungarvan at 7.30pm. With a number of dual players involved
with the Cork camogie team in Kilkenny at 1pm the Cork management
will hope they have an injury free squad to select from come throw-in.Waterford
will have been some what weakened by the absence of such players
as Mary O’Rourke but with MIchael Ryan as manager no doubt they
will be keen to spring a surprise. For many spectators Cork were
not firing on all cylinders against Meath in the National League
final and their management will want to put that right. One can expect
fast open football from two very talented sides
