Clann U-16 Ladies win County Title Clann na nGael 3-9 St. Dominic’s 2-5 The U16 Clann na nGael Ladies had a great win over a strong St. Dominic’s side in the County Final which was played in Dr. Hyde Park, Roscommon on Sunday 19th April. Both teams held their own in the first half with Clann having a player sent to the sin bin 5 minutes before half time, however they held on leading by 2 points going into the second half. Clann maintained the momentum throughout the second half but Dominic’s kept the pressure on. Clann proved the stronger side and managed to pull away in the end to win by seven points. Congratulations to the team, management and parents on this great result, on a 100% record in the competition, and for putting in the commitment and hard work to win the first title of the year for the club. Clann U-12 Ladies overcome St. Dominic’s in Johnstown Clann na nGael 4-9 St. Dominic’s 2-3 The Clann under 12 girls started the 2015 campaign with a home game in Johnstown on Sunday 12th April against St. Dominics. These girls got off to a great start in the first half by spreading the pitch wide and using space to rack up a score of 1-3 to Dominics 1 point at the end of the first half. The second half saw Dominics come out to pull the margin back and with 2 goals in succession left the Clann girls fighting back hard to maintain their lead. The match saw some great scores from Grace Hannon, Casey O’Neill, Caireann McGoldrick, Anna Golden and Sarah Shine and a sterling performance from our back lines in Mia Macken, Lucia Reynolds, Rebecca Egan, Aoife McGoldick and Vivienne Harney Nolan to name but a few. All in all this was a panel of 21 girls with everyone playing their part on the pitch on the day and contributing to a well earned victory against a very good St. Dominic’s team. Clann Team: C.
