Clare Ladies Football - Press Notes

Clare Ladies Football – Press notes

1. The ESB Moneypoint Clare U – 14 A Final between The Banner Ladies
Ennis and Wolfe Tones na Sionna will take place at The Banner GAA
Grounds on Thursday next, October 19th @ 5.15pm in The Banner GAA
Grounds in Shanaway Road in Ennis.

2. Further county training for current U – 12’s will again take
place in St. Joseph’s Doora-Barefield’s grounds in Gurteen next
Saturday at 3.45pm. Last weekend 42 players attended and a very
successful trial was held. Hopefully all players will attend again
this Saturday and those clubs whose players missed this first trial
will have all their prospective county panellists in attendance.
The objective of these sessions is to formulate a panel for the
upcoming U-12 Inter-county tournament featuring Dublin, Limerick,
Galway, Wexford, Cork, Tipperary and Down which will be staged here
in Clare. Developing a prospective panel for next season’s U-14
championship is also on the minds of the selectors. So clubs please
send your best representatives forward for these trials.

3. Cooraclare will play their VHi Munster Intermediate Championship
Final in Hospital, Co. Limerick @ 3.30pm next Sunday. All ladies’
football supporters in Clare are urged to attend this match and
support this great team who are representing the Banner county in
Munster. Good luck to Coooraclare in the Munster final.

4. Congratulations to The Burren Gaels who won the ESB Moneypoint
U – 14 C Clare Ladies Football Championship final on Saturday with
an emphatic 8 – 2 to 3 – 7 win over Shannon Gaels. Goals win matches
and although both teams scored on ten occasions the eight green
flags raised for The Burren Gaels were of obvious utmost value.

5. Congratulations also to Éire Óg of Ennis who captured
the ESB Moneypoint Clare U – 14 D Championship with a replay victory
over a great Liscannor team. Final score Éire Óg 5
– 5, Liscannor 5 – 2.

6. Ennis Town Council is hosting a Civic Reception next Friday
evening for The Banner Ladies Football Club in recognition of their
fantastic achievement in winning this year’s Féile Peil na
nÓg All Ireland Division One Championship.

Proceedings to commence at 7.00pm in Waterpark House, Drumbiggle,
Ennis.
