Clarke to Feature on Laochra Gael this Sunday

Annette Clarke will be the featured player on TG4’s successful ‘Laochra Gael’ programme when it airs this Sunday at 5:55pm.

The Kilkerrin Clonberne stalwart will be remembered as one of the best midfield players of modern times as she lead Galway during her long career which only came to an end in 2015.

Annette was a member of the 2002 Junior All Ireland winning Galway team and then went on to enjoy her greatest year in maroon when she captained Galway to their first and only TG4 All Ireland title in 2004.

Annette has been through it all throughout her career as she claimed All Ireland’s at Junior and Senior level, suffered a serious injury and was left off the Galway panel for a period before coming back into the fold and enjoying one of her best years in Maroon as she captured her second All Star award in 2013.

She made her exit from the intercounty scene in 2015 after enjoying a marvellous year with her club, Kilkerrin-Clonberne winning Galway and Connacht championships and being a mainstay on the Galway team that were a whisker away from defeating Cork on 3 occasions as they lost out in the Division 1 final by a single point after a replay and were narrowly edged out by the same opposition in the TG4 All Ireland quarter final; her last time wearing the famous maroon jersey.
