Coaching Qualifications Opportunity for LGFA Inter County Players

A key focus of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association is to encourage more of our players (current and former) to get involved in coaching and commence their journey on the Coach Education Pathway. With this in mind, we will run our annual LGFA Inter County Player Level 1 Coaching Programme on Saturday 11th November at Marino College, Dublin from 10.30am to 5.00pm.

This programme targets past and current LGFA Inter County players who will be accredited to Level 1 within the Coaching Development Programme (CDPI) based on an objective assessment of their previous experience and qualifications. The course is to provide experienced players with an avenue to gain credit on the coaching ladder and to reward and recognise their contribution to our sport. Participants will become part of our successful coaching pathway and will be able to avail of the many seminars, workshops, resources, and support structures which LGFA have in place. They will be able to share in the accumulated knowledge and experience and to play a very important role as female leader within LGFA.

To be eligible to apply, each applicant must:

  • Have at least 3 years playing at adult level
  • Must be currently coaching a team at club, county, school or college level
  • Be aged 18+
  • Be a current member of an LGFA Club

Applications for this course will be approved by an independent committee as this is outside our regular coach education programme. To apply for a place, we would ask you to please complete the ‘LGFA Inter County Player Level 1 Application Form’ by CLICKING HERE before the deadline date of Monday 23rd October 2023.

This is an exciting opportunity that will raise the profile of the many excellent female coaches we have across the country. We would be delighted to have our players involved and there will be limited places available for this course which will bring female leadership to another level on our Coach Education Pathway.
