Bronagh Quinn (Scoil Bhride Mercy Tuam Co. Galway) recently won an All Ireland Intermediate medal with Annaghdown in 2016. Bronagh has a great career a head of her and will start on the team at centre half back,

Eilis Roynane (Dunmore Community School, Co Galway) plays her club football with Davitts in Mayo and her County football for Mayo.

Eilis is a versatile player and attends Dunmore Community School in Co.Galway and will line out at Number 7 to form the half back line.

Chelsea played at midfield for Corofin minors that won this year’s Connacht club minor championship, Elaine and Chelsea were both members of last years Connacht PPS team.

The team has a really impressive forward line. All Ireland PPS medal winner in 2015 Saoirse Ludden (Sacred Heart School Westport Co. Mayo) has great pace and played for Mayo minors in 2016, Saoirse will captain the team for the competition,

Rachel Fitzmaurice (Convent of Mercy Roscommon Co. Roscommon) also a PPS medal winner in 2015 is an excellent dual player.Rachel plays her club football with St.Ciarans and her camogie with the Athleague club she also plays football and comogie with Roscommon senior teams,

The leader of the attack at number 11 is Amy Dowling (Davitt College Castlebar Co. Mayo) Amy was a member of the Carnacon team that won the Connacht club title in 2016.

The full forward line is one of the best in the business with 2016 Young Player of the Year- Amy O’Connor ( St. Joseph’s Secondary School Foxford Co. Mayo) at right corner forward and in the other corner  is Niamh Daly (Presentation College Currylea Tuam Co. Galway) Niamh received Connacht PPS Young Player of the Year in 2016 . The full forward position will be occupied by Lisa Reid (St. Joseph’s Secondary School Foxford Co. Mayo).Lisa played for Mayo at under 16 last year and is the holder of a Connacht medal.

The panel has real strength in depth too. Caoimhe Keavney (Glenamaddy Community School Co Galway) and Feena McManamon (Sacred Heart School Westport Co. Mayo) were members of the 2016 Connacht PPS panel and will be great additions to the team when called into the action. Another player Maria Reilly (Our Ladys Secondary School Belmullet Co. Mayo) was awarded 2014 Young Player of the year and has been struggling with injury ,Maria is now fully fit and will make a real impact when introduced to the team.

Other panel members that will be called upon in Connachts quest to secure the title will be Shauna Naughton (Dunmore Commuity School, Co Galway), Shannon Dowd and Shauna Golden both from (St. Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen ,Co. Niamh Neary,(St.Marys Secondary School, Ballina ,Co.Mayo),Natalie Prendergast (Santa Maria College, Louisburgh,Co.Mayo) and Rebecca Waldron (Mount Saint Michael, Claremorris ,Co.Mayo).

If the team can reach their full potential on the day they will be a handful for any opposition.

The panel have had a number or trial games and training sessions and recently had worthwhile challenge games against Presentation College Currylea,Tuam Co.Galway and Mayo Senior Ladies. The panel acquitted themselves very well in both games and the management team of Laura Higgins (Mayo), Gerry Carmody (Mayo) and Francie Keane (Roscommon) will be hoping the girls will give a good account of themselves in this years competition.
