Cork and Armagh Players Join International Rules Squad

Cork and Armagh Players Join International
Rules Squad

for Final Trial

Players from the Cork and Armagh sides, who competed
in last Sunday’s TG4 All Ireland Senior Final, will join the
Ladies International Rules panel for the final trial which will
take place in St Pats, Drumcondra this coming Friday and Saturday.

Juliet Murphy, the Cork captain who led her Rebel side to a second
All Ireland title in a row, joins the squad as does Armagh captain
Bronagh O’Donnell, who was Irish Independent / Lucozade Sport
Player of the Month for September.

The other Armagh players joining the squad are corner back Caoimhe
Marley and the impressive midfield partnership of Caroline O’Hanlon
and Alma O’Donnell, twin sister of Bronagh.

The Cork players coming into the squad include corner back Rena
Buckley, midfielder Norita Kelly and full forwards Valerie Mulcahy
and Mary O’Connor.

Team Manager Jarlath Burns knows he has a difficult task ahead
as he and his fellow selectors will have to cull at least four players
from the 34 woman strong squad for the International Rules series
against Australia which begins at the end of this month.

The squad for the Final Trial this weekend are:
