Cork Ladies County Board host first of 3 coaching
courses

Cork Ladies Football county board hosted the first of 3 Fundamentals
coaching courses at CIT on Saturday , 18th March. The course was
delivered by Tyrone based tutors, Eileen Jones & Martina Dillon
who were assisted by CIT sports officers, Irene Hogan & Nora
Aherne.

A group of 20 attended representing eight clubs. This course
which has been developed over the past 5 years is approved by
the NCTC ( UL Limerick) and each participant receives a foundation
coaching course certificate. It is delivered in 4 units which
cover topics such as child protection, player management, drills
and basic coaching skills.

The tutors emphasised during the course of the day that the reason
young girls play sports is for the ‘ fun , company and challenge’.
Winning and competition were under emphasised ‘. The next course
takes place at Bishopstown GAA club on Saturday, March 25th from
9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
