Cork prepare for U-14 All-Ireland semis

CORK
PREPARE FOR U14 ALL-IRELAND SEMI-FINAL

Having won the U14 All-Ireland title four years
in a row, Cork were finally dethroned last year
by Mayo. On Sunday however the Rebels’ what to
set the record straight again when they take on
Donegal in Mullingar at 2.30pm in the All-Ireland
semi-final. Although Cork impressed in the Munster
final against a strong Kerry side, there were
a number of areas which will have to be looked
at when facing tougher opposition. A slow start
saw the Leesiders trail by four points with eight
minutes gone. Had it not been for Claire Keohane
the game could have been over at half time. Against
Donegal however comebacks wont come by so easily.
Emily O’Callaghan has been in superb form as is
captain Niamh O’Keeffe at full back. Beara’s Maureen
O’Sullivan and St Val’s Liz Cohalan have been
consistent throughout and will have to up their
game again in the All-Ireland series.

The pundits are backing Cork to get to the
final but the view must be one game at a time.
Management have being preparing the squad
all week and are fully aware of the difficult
task ahead. Whoever is victorious Sunday will
play the winners of Dublin and Galway in the
All-Ireland final on June 18.
