Against all the odds and in very wet conditions Cork proved
all the pundits wrong, when they scored a shock win over
Galway in the Suzuki Ladies National football league Semi-final
at Corofin.

Scores were at a premium in the difficult conditions and
Cork made most of the running to lead at the break, by 4
points to three. Galway urged on by their loyal following
fought back and went ahead by a point at the three quarter
stage. Cork showed great resolve to battle back to reach
their first ever major final, with 2 points to spare.

Waterford 2-9 Kerry 1-11

Waterford the underdogs gained revenge for their Munster
final defeat when, they scored a thrilling one point win
over Kerry in the Quarter final of the Suzuki National League
at Beaufort. Mary O’Rourke was once again in top scoring
for them shooting 6 points, Martina O’Ryan and Elaine Murphy
added a goal and a point each.

Michelle McGrath scored the winning point on the stroke
of full time. Kerry defeated by Laois will be disappointed
with this result their scores came from, Geraldine O’Shea
0-6 Kacey O’Driscoll 1-1 Patrice Dennehy 0-2, Deirdre Corridon
0-2. Waterford now meet Mayo in the semi-final.
