30 October 2015 Cracking Ulster Club Final in Prospect Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! The LGFA All Ireland Club Championships have reached the business end of the competitions as the Provincial Championship return this weekend with the Ulster Senior Club Final taking centre stage and what a match that promises to be. 2015 Ulster Senior Ladies Club Championship Final Donaghmoyne (Monaghan) v Termon (Donegal), Killyclogher, Tyrone Saturday, October 31st, 2:00pm K. McKeever This is a meeting of the most dominant team in Ulster in recent years and the team that broke that dominance in 2014 before going on to become All Ireland club championships last December. Termon from Donegal were irresistable as they took Donaghamoyne’s Ulster crown before going on to account for a star studded Mourneabbey side in a pulsating All Ireland club Final. Donaghmoyne were stung by last year’s defeat as they would have been hoping to reclaim the All Ireland Championship that they had previously won in 2013. Termon are a well drilled and extremely disciplined unit that defend ferociously before unleashing lightning fast counter attacks. They have several inter county stars that they can call on including Laura Gallagher in goal, Emer Gallagher and Nicole McLaughlin along with attacker Shannon McGroddy. However, all eyes will be on Geraldine McLaughlin who is the undoubted star of this side. The attacker produced one of the great individual performances of all time as she scored 3-08 in a sparkling All Ireland performance last year. Donaghmoyne are a side that will not lack for determination as the Monaghan club, who are 3 time All Ireland Champions, will hope to avenge last years Ulster Final defeat to the same opposition. Sharon Courtney will surely be given the job of marking McLaughlin in a duel that could determine the destination of the Ulster Championship. Donaghmoune will be hoping to win the Ulster Championship for the 8th time since 2004 and they will need big performances from their attacking star, Caitriona McConnell and 2 time All Star Cora Courtney who will probably operate around the middle of the field. Whoever wins this match will probably become immediate favourites for the All Ireland Championship although thoughts of glory in December will be forgotten until this hurdle has been cleared.
