Tipperary LGFA have voted in favour of appointing Mr. Declan Carr as their new Senior Football team manager, along with his management team, at a virtual meeting of the board last night. Speaking after the meeting, former All Ireland winning Senior Hurling Captain and ex-Tipperary Hurling U21 Manager Carr said: “I am delighted with the opportunity to build on the solid foundations that have been established in Tipperary ladies Football in recent years. I am really looking forward to getting started. I have to say I have been like a child before Christmas, looking at a gift and knowing that I am not allowed to open it yet.” Speaking about the task in front of him, Carr added: “My mission statement is for Tipperary Ladies is to be best version of what and who they are. I want them all to be better players for both themselves and for the team. “I can’t wait to meet the girls. I have been watching their matches and I can see their energy and their attitude. There is nothing that needs to be fixed with this team, nothing is broken. I believe they just need another leg up in terms of strength and endurance. They have proved they can compete at the top tier – it is now just about achieving consistent performances.” Speculating about the Lidl National League campaign, which is expected to throw in at the end of February, Mr. Carr admitted that conditions were not ideal in terms of making preparations for this campaign, but acknowledged that everybody is in the same boat. Carr added that he is happy that Tipperary have been drawn in a group with Cork, Dublin and Waterford, he wants the Premier County to play against teams of this calibre, and he’s looking forward to the challenges ahead. Mr. Carr’s full management team is as follows: Coach – Paul Creed, Selector – Sarah Jane Darmody (FLO), Selector – Clare Lambert, Strength and Conditioning – Paddy Lowry & Colm Bonnar (Consulting) Share this Article 0 0
