Donegal County Finals

Sunday was an important day in ladies football with two county finals on in the same afternoon with the Intermediate first at noon between Milford and Aodh Ruadh, and the Senior between Termon and St. Eunans.

The scores were Milford 3–9    Aodh Ruadh    4–4.

Termon4–11  St. Eunans       2–3.

The Intermediate started off as if Milford were going to win in a canter. They were

2–5 to 0-2 up at half time courtesy of Amber Barrett and.  Lianne  Boyce .

Aodh Ruadh came out with more fire in their bellies in the second half Donna Martin at full forward scoring 1-2 in the first half and failing to score a few easy frees.

Elaine Dorrian at corner forward scored two goals that turned the tables and at one stage Aodh Ruadh were a point ahead but the Milford girls held their nerve and won by a single point.

The senior Final was a one sided affair with Termon playing classic running football which was a joy to watch. They led at half time by a score of 2–5 to 0-2.

They carried on in the second half as they played in the first and ran out easy winners never being really tested by the very young St, Eunans  side and could be a force to be reckoned  with in the not too distant future  who never stopped trying.

It was a good day,s entertainment and we would like to thank both the Mc Cumhaills club and the Mens county board for the use of the excellent facilities.
