DONEGAL GIRLS WIN ULSTER MINOR TITLE

Donegal girls did themselves and the county proud with a well deserved victory in Drumquin on Saturday afternoon in front of a large Donegal contingent.
Rachael Crawford from Four masters got things under way after a few minutes with a well taken point and Alana Mc Donald got another shortly afterwards and both of these with the visitors playing against the wind. Geraldine Mc Laughlin from Termon got two more before Tyrone got a point from a free by Mairead Conwell.Tyrone had missed several good scoring chances with woeful shooting while Donegal wasted nothing.They played fast exciting football with good cohesion .Geraldine Mc Laughlin got a goal and Alana Mc Donald a point before half time . Tyrone replied with another free, and two from play by Mairead Conwell and a point from Jane Ward to leave the score at half time .

TYRONE 0–5 DONEGAL 1–5.
Donegal continued in the second half where they left off in the first with points from Rachael Crawford, Eilish Ward St Nauls Capt and a goal from Niamh Mc Laughlin Moville .In this period Niamh Hughes got Tyrone’s only point from play in the half and the only other Tyrone player to score was Maired Conwell with some excellent free taking adding four.Geraldin Mc Laughlin was in a class of her own scoring three points from play ,and Ciara Hegarty, and Rachael Crawford one apiece.Donegal finished scoring with another point from Geraldine who was top scorer on the day with a personal tally of 1–6, while Mairead
Conwell scored 0–8, a fine performance by any standards, with 0-6 from frees.
