Donna Boyle (née Dunnion) - RIP

ALL of us at the Ladies Gaelic Football Association are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Donna Boyle (née Dunnion).

Donna played in the full-back line on the Donegal team that claimed the 2003 TG4 All-Ireland Junior title.

Donegal Live reports that Donna, a native of Barnesmore, Donegal Town, had been living in Kentucky, Ardara. She passed away in the Donegal Hospice following a long illness bravely borne.

We wish to pass on our deepest sympathies to her husband Brendan, children Eoghan and Aoibhinn, parents Danny and Marian, brothers Barry and Donal, her extended family and wide circle of friends.

Ms Boyle was a popular teacher, having spent much of her career in Frosses NS.

LGFA President Mícheál Naughton was manager of the Four Masters Ladies team when Ms Boyle captained the team to their first senior county title in 2006.

Speaking to Donegal Live, Mícheál Naughton described Donna as a “great leader” and “totally committed” on the field of play.

He described her passing as “heart-breaking news to get.”

Funeral Arrangements

The Funeral will leave her Donna’s home on Friday morning at 10.30am to The Church of The Holy Family, Ardara, for 11am Requiem Mass with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
