Dublin
3rd NFL Team make it 2 in a row.

Dublin, who field no fewer than 3 teams in the
Suzuki Ladies National Football League, registered
a second consecutive win for their third team.
Travelling to Mullingar, the Dubs took on Westmeath’s
first team. Whilst not a memorable game in itself,
it nevertheless maintained the spectators’ interest
levels high as no fewer than 2 points separated
the teams at any given time in the game.

Although Westmeath had several scoring opportunities,
a total of 8 wides, it was Dublin however who
demonstrated the deeper spirit and team character
which spurned them on to become eventual winners
by a margin of one single point. Dublin captain,
Aoife Greene, (Fingallians) inspired her team
colleagues. Dublin drafted in Catherine Keaney
at the last minute for injured goalkeeper, Sarah
Campbell. Catherine showed her true grit and determination
by saving a penalty and keeping Dublin in contention
at a crucial point in the game. Dublin had 12
frees and 5 wides whilst Westmeath had 11 frees
and 8 wides. Both sides had a 45 each.

Full-Time score: Dublin: 0-7; Westmeath: 0-6.
