Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football – Weekly Notes

The Dublin Under 14s put in a great performance yesterday against Monaghan buying their place in the All Ireland on the weekend of 13th June next. Well done Girls!
The 2009/10 Registration Year ends tomorrow evening – Monday 31st May. If you have teams or players who are not re-registered, they will cease to be eligible to play or train. However, any new player registered between 1st January and 31st May this year shall be deemed to be registered up to and including, the 31st May 2011. Note the Official Guide states a team proved to have played an unregisteredshall forfeit the game to their opponents.

A number of Summer Challenge games have been arranged by the Fixtures Co-Ordinators and these have been circulated to the affected Clubs.

“Grab Your Whistle” courses are planned for the last weekend in June and the first weekend in July [northside & southside venues respectively] Intending participants must eMail me and be prepared to attend for the two days of the course. Details on the website.

Referees are complaining that they are not being contacted in advance by the ‘home’ side. In a few instances, they have turned out to find neither side present. This is inconsistent with the GAA’s “RESPECT” programme and with the Dublin Ladies Regulations. Defaulting teams must arrange to fund the Referee’s expenses in these cases and clubs involved have been notified.

The Bord Gáis Energy Teams of the League have been announced at an awards ceremony at Croke Park. This joint initiative from Ladies Football and Bord Gáis Energy recognises the players who excelled during the league campaign across all four divisions. Dublin’s Amy McGuinness was chosen. See the website report for more details. Well Done Amy!
