Parnells and St. Brigids got the night off to a great start with a very entertaining game of football in the Intermediate Final. Parnells were ahead at half time, however St. Brigids came out in the second half determined to bring the cup home and ended up convincing winners – St. Brigids 2-14 Parnells 4-04. A well deserved Colleen Barrett received the Player of the Match award. The Senior Championship final got underway at 20.25 with Na Fianna hoping to break Ballyboden St. Endas 5 year reign as Dublin county champions. Ballyboden St. Endas were ahead at the half time break. Na Fianna scored 2 goals in the last few minutes of the game but Ballyboden St. Endas managed to secure the return of the cup to Ballyboden for the 6th year in a row. The final score was Ballyboden St. Endas 1-11 Na Fianna 2-03. Last years Dublin Captain Martina Farrell graciously accepted the Player of the Match award from Dublin County Board Chairman John Hillery. Well done to everyone involved on the night. For those of you who could not make it to Parnell Park last Friday Setanta Sports will be showing the games on: Monday 15th August 15.10 (Intermediate Final – Parnells V St. Brigids) Tuesday 16th August 17.20 (Intermediate Final – Parnells V St. Brigids) Tuesday 16th August 18.30 (Senior Final – Ballyboden St. Endas V Na Fianna) Congratulations to the Dublin U14 team who won the Leinster Blitz in Carlow last Saturday beating a very strong Kildare team in the final. This is the 3rd year in a row that Dublin has won this competition. Well done to all involved. The Dublin U14 team travel to Mullingar this coming Saturday to take part in the All-Ireland blitz.
