Féile Laighean 2008 The now regular Provincial Feile, in the Province which is to host the following years Féile Peil Na nÓg, takes place this Saturday 31st May in Kildare. The day starts with all the teams arriving in the County Grounds, St Conleth’s Park Newbridge at 9 Am, so an early start for the visitors. After a short opening ceremony the teams will parade through the town past a reviewing stand in Main Street. KFM’s Killian Whelan will provide a commentary at that point. The Ladies Division 1 is in Sarsfields, Newbridge and while all the other Divisions will be played to a finish at their “Host” venues, Leixlip, Ellistown & Kill, the Division 1 Final will form a Double Header with the Boys Division 1 Final back in the County Grounds. The “Girls” Final is at 3:30 and the Boys at 4:30. There are 4 Divisions in the Ladies with 7 in the Boys, although the Boys Division 1 is really 2 Divisions, Groups A & B, both of 8 teams with the 2 “Group” winners playing the Division 1 Final, after the Ladies Final in St Conleth’s Park See www.Feilelaighean2008.ie for all the Fixtures and then later on Saturday for the results. Each Player will get be presented with a medal, with gold and silver for the Winners and runners up respectively. The Medals are a specially commissioned “Féile Laighean” so should be a nice souvenir of the occasion as will the glossy Programme with Photo of all 96 teams included. Each player will get a Programme and a few will be on sale in Newbridge at €5. Féile Laighean Fixtures – Girls NOTE: Each team guaranteed minimum 2 matches.
