Fermanagh Club Football Round Up Fermanagh Ladies Football Round 2 Kinwaley 5-09 Erne Gaels 0-05 Due to the county on duty at the weekend there was only one fixture played between Kinawley and Erne Gaels. This game played in Kinawley fields was a lot closer then the score line suggest but the end result, a convincing performances from the girls in Blue and white. Kinawley opened the played with a quick point from play by full-forward Gemma Scallon, with the same player adding another point in as many minutes before the Belleek girls got settled with a well taken point from the sharp boot of Clare Gallagher. With Kinawleys Alishing McCaughey and Clare Gallagher exchanging point for point the game was proving a fight in all areas of the field. Kinawley forward line were having to fight for all their score and Janet McManus registered her first point of the game to leave the score board reading 0-04 to 0-02 in favor of Kinawley. Belleeks defence was holding strong and their work rate mid-way through the 1st half was vital ensuring they only trailed by 2 points, however a well worked passage of play seen Alishing McCaughey finish the ball to the Belleek net. Belleek continued to work hard around the mid of the field with great support play coming from the Gallaghers, Claire and Rachel and they were rewarded with two point. With minutes remaining it was Kinawleys Gemma Scallon who had the last say with a fine point from play, to leave the half time score reading 1-05 to 0-04 in favor of the home side. With all to play for in the second half it was Kinawley who dominated from the start through a point from Claire Maguire, and Janet McManus proving her worth netting two goal. Kinawley now in the driving sit introduced a number of young players debuting at senior level namely Zoe Leonard and Danielle Maguire with the later only on the field two minutes when she made her mark will a well taken goal, instant impact. Kinawley now in total control and Belleek only able to register one solitary point the game finished with Gemma Scallon and Alishing McCaughey scoring a point a piece from play before Scallon again showed her free taken ability through two points right at the end of 60 minutes. The final score did not reflect the tough encounter which took place, with both team showing well in phases and a lot will have been learnt from this outing.
