Fermanagh star scorches clear in race for 2024 ZuCar Golden Boot award!

FERMANAGH ace Eimear Smyth has strengthened her lead at the top in the race for the ZuCar Golden Boot award.

After moving into top spot with a haul of 0-14 against Derry last week, the Derrygonnelly Harps sharpshooter bagged 4-6 against London last Sunday to extend her advantage in the overall rankings.

In the current top 5, Smyth is now 17 points clear of her nearest challenger, Aisling Hanly from Roscommon, who bowed out of the 2024 Championship following last Sunday’s TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate Championship quarter-final defeat to Leitrim.

There are three players still involved in the Championship on 20 points – Leitrim captain Michelle Guckian, Dublin skipper Carla Rowe and Galway’s Olivia Divilly.

As things stand now, however, they have some way to go to catch Smyth, who is on a total of 6-31 (49 points).

Top 5
Eimear Smyth (Fermanagh) – 6-31 (49)
Aisling Hanly (Roscommon) – 5-7 (22)
Michelle Guckian (Leitrim) – 1-17 (20)
Olivia Divilly (Galway) 3-11 (20)
Carla Rowe (Dublin) 4-8 (20)
