First underage title of the year for Meath

MEATH LADIES U/14 ALL IRELAND BLITZ COMPETITION

 

Meath Ladies first underage title of the year came in
the form of the All Ireland Blitz held in Coralstown,
Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath on Saturday May 12th when they
defeated hot favourites Kerry in the final.

Meath got off to the perfect start when they defeated
Laois 2 – 05 to 1 – 05 in the first round where Sinead
Coyle bagged 1 – 03, Eileen Conneely a goal and Katie
Callaghan 2 points.

Round 2: Meath 4 – 01 – Monaghan 0 – 04. Scorers: Laura
McMahon 2 goals, Bridgetta Lynch 1 goal, Sinead Coyle
1 goal (penalty) and Katie Callaghan 1 point.

Round 3: Meath 1 – 05 – Cork 0 – 03. Scorers: Eileen Conneely
1 goal, Sinead Coyle 3 points, Bridgetta Lynch 2 points.

Round 4: Meath 0 – 03 – Kerry 0 – 03. Scorers: Sinead
Coyle 1 point, Shauna Leech 2 points.

Semi-final: Meath 0 – 02 – Dublin 0 – 01. Scorers: Bridgetta
Lynch 1 point, Sinead Coyle 1 point.

Final: Meath 3 – 03 – Kerry 0 – 08. Scorers: Sinead Coyle
1 point, Christina Troy 1 – 01, Bridgetta Lynch 1 goal,
Eileen Conneely 1 goal, Sinead Coyle 1 point,
