It is that time of the year again when counties will be reviewing their fixtures from 2015 and putting plans and structures in place for 2016. We would like to assist Counties with this process by organising a ‘Fixtures Review and Planning Workshop’ on Saturday 5th December at 11am in The Croke Park Hotel. Who is this workshop aimed at? – Anyone involved in planning fixtures for your county, e.g Fixtures Committee, Members of County Executive What does the workshop involve? – The workshop will involve a specific area of training assigned to reviewing fixtures to assist with the planning process in your County. Counties have been requesting support and assistance in the area of fixtures for the past few years and this workshop has been devised as a direct result of your feedback. Last year saw our fixtures been reviewed at National Level and therefore counties seen this as the natural progression to same. What are the benefits of attending this workshop? – A proper review and plan of fixtures in your county enables you to provide a co-ordinated programme of meaningful, well scheduled games for players, appropriate to their needs and abilities. The recommended number of games per player at various age levels will be discussed, the spread of games over a season and also how to keep your schedule to target. This will be practical workshop providing templates to try and make the fixtures planning process easier for your county as we are aware there are a huge number of fixtures every year. We will also discuss the importance of buy in from your clubs and tips on ensuring that they keep to your schedule also. Counties to date that have attended this workshop found that the inclusion of an independent fixtures reviewer has been a huge success and was an invaluable addition to the fixtures’ committees. Please find attached a role description for a Fixture Reviewer if hope to put in place. If your county has identified a Fixture’s Reviewer prior to the workshop then this person will also be provided training on the night. It is essential the right person is identified for this role (if you are putting in place) as they will work closely with the executive and fixtures’ committee. Role of County Fixtures Reviewer 2016 This workshop will only be organised once for the year and we would appreciate if you can book your place by completing the below application form with full details of who will be in attendance by Friday 20th November and forward to paula@ladiesgaelic.ie or post to Paula Prunty, National Development Manager, LGFA, Croke Park, Dublin 3. 2015 Fixtures Plan and Review Reply Form There are only a limited number of places available so this will on a first come first served basis for reserving your place.
