Fundamentals Coaching Course 2007 – Leinster Council

Comhairle Laighean, Cumann Peil Gael na mBan are embarking on a

Coaching Programme during the month of February 2007.

Programme Details:

1. Counties are requested to nominate seven (max) persons to attend

the FUNdamentals Coach Development Programme.

Persons must be over 17years of age.

2. Persons who attend this course should have an interest in coaching
as

this course will be followed up by the Level 1 Coaching Course.

3. The FUNdamentals Coaching Course is being funded by Comhairle
Laighean,

Cumann Peil Gael na mBan.

4. The Course will last a minimum of six hours. (10am – 4pm)

5. Participants are required to be suitability attired.(Tracksuit
& Runners)
Course Details:

‘FUNdamentals is a foundation level coach designed as an introduction

to good coaching.

Coaches will gain insights into the theoretical underpinnings of
successful

Coaching as well as having the opportunity to coach and learn in
a safe environment.

All course tutors have completed the NCTC Tutor Education Programme.
Course Content:

The FUNdamentals course comprises of 4 units, 2 of which are practical.

Unit 1: Good Coaching Practice

Unit 2: ABC’s of Gaelic Football

Unit 3: Group Management and Child Protection

Unit 4: Coaching a session.

Coaches will look at issues such as planning and implementing training
programmes

as well as practical coaching and an introduction to the Player
Pathway.

These Units will provide a good basis for further development for
those already coaching or those who are keen to get involved.

Course Day 1:

Date: Sat 10th February, 2007.

Venue: Carlow Town Hurling Club, Carlow.

Time: 10am – 4pm.

Course Day 2:

Date: Sat 17th February, 2007

Venue: O’Connor Park, Tullamore, Offaly.

Time: 10am – 4pm.

Counties to Attend: OFFALY

LAOIS

WESTMEATH

LONGFORD.

Course Day 3:

Date: Sat 24th February, 2007

Venue: Lucan Sarsfields GAA Grounds,Co. Dublin.

Time: 10am – 4pm.

Counties to Attend: MEATH

DUBLIN

LOUTH

KILDARE
