23 February 2015 Funds Flood in for Derry Footballer, Lisa Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! By Sinead Farrell (http://ladygaagaa-f.blogspot.ie/) Contributions continue to flood in for the Derry physiotherapist after she collapsed yesterday, Friday in her accommodation in Indonesia just 24 hours after completing a hike in the mountains. Lisa Orsi (22) had been living and working in Singapore for the last year before travelling to Indonesia. The cause of her illness is not yet confirmed and she remains in a critical condition. Her family are due to arrive in Indonesia tomorrow morning. Childhood friend Sinead McElhinney launched the ‘Pray For Lisa’ funding project within hours of receiving the horrifying news and thus far, it has generated over €4,000 to go towards covering medical and travel expenses for Lisa and her family. Sinead, explains how Facebook comments from Lisa’s friends, inspired her to pursue the fundraiser. “People were putting up comments saying that they wanted to help and if you knew Lisa you would know why. She’s just such a loving and caring person with so many friends. Even when she moved to Singapore she went there on her own but she has so many friends now. Lisa is an active member of the Singapore Gaelic Lions Football club and prior to the incident on Friday, Sinead reports that her friend had no history of ill-health. “We’re all in shock. Lisa was never ill like this before so this news is all a bit surreal. She went out to Indonesia to go hiking and she plays football so she’s a very healthy girl.” Sinead currently lives in Norwich but despite the distance barrier, she and Lisa remain in regular contact. They last spoke in January. “Lisa was telling me about her trip to Indonesia and she was really looking forward to it. We’ve always kept in touch even though it’s a while since I’ve seen her.” Contributions for Lisa and her family can be made at: http://gogetfunding.com/project/pray-for-lisa#/project_details Share this Article 0 0
