Launch of 2015 Liberty Insurance GAA Annual Games Development Conference

The annual GAA Conference which will be held in Croke Park on Saturday, January 10th, was launched yesterday with Monaghan star Laura McEnaney joining LGFA president Pat Quill and stars of each of the Gaelic Games sports and Irish Athletics legend, Sonia O’Sullivan. The conference, which will focus on ‘Putting Youth into Perspective’ will take place on January 9th/10th with Ladies Gaelic Football again provide a significant part of the activity with former Cork goalkeeper Elaine Harte, Dr. Wesley O’Brien (UCC) and Áine Tighe among the presenters at the conference. the deadline to order tickets is Friday, December 5th.

Following on from the success of the 2014 GAA Coaching Conference – which focused on issues related to the development of the child player – the 2015 Conference will focus on issues related to the Youth Player (aged 13 – 18 years) the 2015 Conference will focus on issues related to the Youth Player (aged 13 – 18 years). This Conference is targeted toward mentors and coaches of County Under 14, Under 16 and Minor Management Teams and also any mentors involved with County Development Academies.

The GAA Coaching Conference is rapidly becoming one of the most popular and world renowned conferences for coaches and has been completely sold out for the past number of years. We would encourage all our coaches to attend this very informative day and stress to register as soon as possible as the conference is now nearly full.  The LGFA will also have a talk on the day titled ‘Empowering Players – Building the relationship between the Coach and the Player’ which will be delivered by Dr Wesley O’Brien (UCC and Cork Development Academies) and Elaine Harte (Former All Ireland Winning Cork Goalkeeper and underage mentor for Tipperary 2014). Aine Tighe (Current Leitrim Player and All Star Nominee) will also present her research at the conference.
