Gaelic4Girls takes a bite out the Big Apple...

On Sunday last 350 girls participated in the first New York Gaelic 4 Girls blitz touranment of the year.

Participants on the day consisted of girls between the ages of 5 and 18 from all the clubs in New York and several who had travelled from Philadelphia to play in the tournament.

Girls were divided up into teams and the games went on from 10 to 3 o clock on Sunday and was followed by two Senior Ladies Games in which Na Fianna defeated Kerry/Donegal and Cavan narrowly defeated Rockland.

The day was a massive success and many thanks to the Rockland Club and the Gaelic 4 Girls committee for putting on such a massive event which included a burger and hot dog concession stand and speeches from the local Congress woman.
The next Gaelic 4 Girls tournament will take place in Frank Golden Park Queens on May 20th at 10 o’clock.

You can view up to 200  action pictures from the day . Thanks to Vince Tyer, Mike Glynn , Kate Coffey, Leslie Devine and especially to Claire Mc Ginn for all the photos.
