Application Form (word doc)

Dear Teacher/Coach/Manager/Administrator,

Monaghan footballer and founder of GaelicPerformance Dermot Mc Ardle here.

As you may be aware, GaelicPerformance have been running Ireland's only Residential and Non Residential Gaelic Football camps for 12 – 16 year old Boys and Girls for the last 3 years.

As part of our expansion we have teamed up with Halifax Bank and also added in two extra weeks in St Patricks College Drumcondra, to accommodate the extra interest that there has been in our camps. Over the past 3 years we have focused all of our recruitment efforts on individuals, which has proven to be very successful. But as Gaelic Football is a team sport, we are now focusing our attentions for 2008 on specific teams, Particularly County Development Squads.

The GaelicPerformance long term vision is to capitalize on the experience and talent of Ireland’s leading players to foster and develop future talent in our national games. To ensure this, we secured the services of Sean Cavanagh, Declan O Sullivan, Bernard Brogan, Paul Casey, Alan Dillon, Alan Kearns, Clionadha O Connor, and Paul Finaly as our ambassadors for 2008.We have taken the best practices from top inter county players and teams across the country, and developed an exciting and interactive programme covering areas such as:

Technical Skills and Game Sense
Strength and Conditioning

(Introduction to Kettlebell,Introduction to Barbell, Introduction to Fhitbag, and FHIT)

Speed and Power Development

( Acceleration/Deceleration, Correct Turning techniques, Correct running technique)

Mental Toughness

( Pre match preparation/ Visualistaion, Preparing for your role, recovering from setbacks during matches)

Video Analysis

The normal price of our camps is €379(Residential)/€179 (Non-Residential) for the week, but for the first time, with thanks to our sponsor Halifax Bank, we can now offer a discounted price of €329/€129 per player. The opportunity to improve playing performance that a GaelicPerformance camp can afford to players and teams is huge, as there is nearly 40 player coach contact hours through out the week. There are few distractions, and the focus is at all times on improving performance on the pitch. Most GAA players will never get an opportunity to train in an intense but enjoyable set up like we can offer.

The Camps run on 3 Dates, July 14th – 18th at Gormanston College Co Meath, and also on Aug 4th –Aug 8th and Aug 11th – Aug 15th at St Pats College Drumcondra.

An idea that my own club, Castleblayney Faughs, have come up with, to ensure as many of their players can attend, is that they will pay €100 per child to attend, and that the parents or guardians will pay only €229. I feel that this presents great value for the parents, and is not a huge burden on the club.

I have attached a special discount application form with this email, as well as a sample week. I would appreciate if you bring this to the attention of Players/Teams that you feel could benefit from a GaelicPerformance Camp.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me on 086 3525130, or visit the GaelicPerformance website www.gaelicperformance.com/camps.asp. I look forward to hearing from you.

Go raibh mile maith agat,

Dermot
