GALWAY 7-12   LAOIS  2-04

Galway U 14 girls  eased into the All- Ireland final after easily defeating Laois in Bannagher on Saturday last. 10 mins were on the clock before either team had scored but Chloe Miskill clocked up Galway’s first point in the 11th min. Galway had 3 more attacks over the next few mins but they were all fruitess until Niamh Coleman blocked a shot in the midfield and delivered a beuatfiul pass to Ailish Morrissey who smashed the ball to the back of the net.

Laois had their first attack of the half on 19 mins but no 14 Emma Lawlor  blasted wide from close range. A fantastic piece of fielding by Amy Coen in the Galway midfield started the next Galway attack which was finished by the Galway no 8 when she kicked over from close range. Another Morrissey goal followed in the 23rd min before Laois got their first point in the 27th min, a free by Carey O’ Brian. Niamh Coleman got a goal and Chloe Miskill finished the half by adding a point in the 30th min to leave the half time score at Galway 3-04 Laois 0-01.

If Laois were to have any chance in the game they had to come out all guns blazing in the 2nd half and that they did when Amy Byrne found the back of the net in their first attack. But this was soon cancelled out by Rebecca Conway who scored a goal and Andrea Trill who got her first point. Erin Fitzpatrick pulled a point back in the 3rd min but from that moment Galway pulled away from their opponents.

Andrea Trill(2-01), Niamh Coleman(1-00), Chloe Miskill(0-03), Rachel Dowd(0-02) and a point each for Ailish Morrissey and Louise Reily kept Galway on top as Laois could not cope with the pace of their opponents. F-T Score Galway 7-12   Laois 2-04
