We are quite a unique club by virtue of the fact that in addition to playing the traditional gaelic codes of camogie and football, we also run a ladies shinty team who compete in the Scottish Camanachd championships. Over the weekend of 2nd-4th June, the club will be hosting the first ever Glasgow Women’s Celtic Sports Festival at various venues in the city. The festival is aimed at celebrating the contribution women make to the development of our club and also to raise the profile of gaelic games among the wider community in Glasgow. Among the event being planned are exhibition matches in all three codes, schools challenge matches, come and try coaching for local youngsters, coaching courses in football and camogie as well as tournaments involving visiting teams from Ireland. The weekend will be rounded off with a ceili with the music being provided by club members. We would like to hear from clubs in Ireland who may be interested in participating. The club will be able to assist with organising transport and accommodation.
