22 October 2013 Gráinne Smith named Croke Park Hotel Player of the Month Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! Gráinne Smith from Cavan was named as the Croke Park Hotel Player of the Month for August. Gráinne was particularly impressive in her county’s TG4 Intermediate All Ireland Semi Final clash with Down in Breffni Park. Cavan have since gone on to claim the TG4 Intermediate All Ireland title after a fantastic tussle with Tipperary in Croke Park but they signalled their intentions for the final Sunday in September with a comprehensive defeat of Down in which Gráinne was the conductor of the orchestra. The Killygarry club player has long been one of the mainstays for her county having made her debut back in 1999 versus Donegal but she enjoyed a particularly productive season alongside Bronagh Sheridan and Aisling Doonan in a potent full forward that terrorised defences all Summer. Gráinne accounted for a personal tally of 1-03 for Cavan in their semi final victory over Down and replicated that form in the All Ireland Final victory over Tipperary with a tally of 3 points from play in a very accomplished performance.
