Competitions Support Coordinator

(Contract for Service)

 

Following the continued success of the LGFA Higher Education Colleges Competitions the Association is looking to fill the role of a part-time Competitions Support Co-ordinator by Contract for Service with immediate start preferable.

 

The key purpose of this role is to support the LGFA Higher Education Committee (HEC) in relation to competition organisation and governance for the 2023 – 2024 HEC games programme.

 

Reporting to the Chairperson of the LGFA Higher Education Committee, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the LGFA HEC to ensure that third level institutions and representative teams are properly affiliated and registered
  • Developing and maintaining a contacts database for the third level institutes affiliated to the LGFA HEC and participating in competitions
  • Offering support in the arrangement and co-ordination of the HEC games programmes in the qualifying rounds of all HEC Championships up to the O’Connor Cup Championship weekend
  • Monitoring and reporting on progress of competitions
  • Administrative duties including the collation of referee reports, publishing of fixtures, results and tables
  • Supporting the HEC in the prior arrangements of the O’Connor Cup Finals weekend

 

Any other duties that may reasonably be required.

 

Successful candidates will have:

  • A high level of competence in the Microsoft office suite
  • Strong interpersonal and team focused skills and a pleasant telephone manner
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and to manage priorities
  • A high degree of initiative and flexibility
  • Experience in preparing and writing reports
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ideally have a knowledge or interest in Ladies Gaelic Football and the structures
  • Preferably experience in administration of sports games programmes

 

Contract for Service

 

  • The contract for service is for 100 hours per month x 5 months (December, January, February, March, April) at €20 per hour culminating in a remuneration total of €10,000
  • The successful contractor will receive payment of €2,000 for every month of 100 hours worked during the term
  • Mileage will be provided for if agreed travel required for the post, the remuneration of these costs will be the responsibility of the Higher Education Committee
  • This is a contract for service and the services as are agreed with the LGFA but for the avoidance of doubt it shall be the coordinator’s responsibility to comply with all legislation or statutes or bye laws from time to time in force in relation to the provision of the Services
  • It is expressly agreed that in performing the services above the coordinator is acting solely as the independent contractor and nothing in the agreement which will be signed shall constitute the creation or establishment of partnership, joint venture or employee/employer relationship between the parties
  • The Parties hereby accept and acknowledge that this contract is a contract for services and as such the coordinator accepts that it is his/her sole responsibility for any and all taxes arising in respect of fees paid to them on foot of this contract.
