The Irish Heart Foundation would like to say a huge thanks to all the clubs around Ireland who got involved during Heart Month 2022 and helped spread the #HerHeartMatters message. This year, they will be once again be using Heart Month to highlight women’s Heart Health – because #HerHeartMatters ❤️ Research shows that heart disease in women is under-researched, under-diagnosed, and under-treated One in four women die from heart disease and stroke 80% of these deaths are preventable By making small changes to your lifestyle you can greatly reduce your risk of developing heart disease and stroke The #HerHeartMatters 2023 campaign encourages everyone to talk to the women in their life about heart health, share the message and tips with them and empower them to make small, sustainable lifestyle changes for the good of their heart health. Additional resources and tools have been developed this year to help women protect their heart health. These supports can all be found on their website: https://irishheart.ie/campaigns/her-heart-matters-heart-month/ One of these supports is the 28 Days of Heart Healthy Habits which offers ideas for simple ways to build heart healthy habits into your day. Try a new activity each day and make your favourites part of your regular routine: https://irishheart.ie/campaigns/her-heart-matters-heart-month/28-days-of-heart-healthy-habits/ Once again, the Irish Heart Foundation are asking clubs all around Ireland to help spread awareness of this campaign and its important message. They are asking teams to sign up for a bundle of temporary #HerHeartMatters tattoos, apply them and post their team photos to social media with the hashtag #HerHeartMatters and some of the campaign messages above.
