With the 20×20 campaign in full swing, with one of the aims to increase female participation at all levels of sport, the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (and in particular Limerick LGFA), is the latest sporting body to add an new exciting club to its family. Croom Ladies Gaelic Football Club ‘kicked off’ with its first official AGM recently and officially unveiled the new Ladies club to the Croom community. Pat Madigan (Limerick LGFA Development Officer), commenced proceedings and chaired the first club meeting and election of new club officers. Special guest speakers William Harmon (LGFA National Development Officer) and Gearóid Balfry (LGFA Munster Development Officer) offered their full support and gave presentations on the importance of club values, building the club for the people of Croom, increasing volunteerism and visibility in all aspects of club activity and making the positive club experience a centre focus for all players that will join Croom Ladies Gaelic Football Club in the future. New club chairperson Theresa Reidy thanked all of those people in the community that helped make the dream become a reality including Croom LGFC’s Susan O’Mahony, Mary Cantwell, Martina Reidy, PJ O’Mahony, LGFA’s Pat Madigan, William Harmon and Gearóid Balfry, Croom GAA, Club Sponsors Croom Concrete, Croom Club Crest Artist Joanie Carrig, Graphic Designer Agata Wiecke, Eamonn Doody SKYVIEW Photography, Limerick LGFA and all those who have worked and supported the establishment of Croom LGFC over the past number of weeks. Croom Ladies Gaelic Football Club will host a promotional launch event with the community in early 2020, including a high profile Intercounty Senior Ladies Gaelic Football fixture, a Juvenile match fixture along with other children’s fun activities.
