20 March 2015 Irish Examiner O'Connor Cup Underway in CIT Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! The Irish Examiner O’Connor Cup weekend has gotten off to a great start with some brilliant action already taking place. DCU got the better of a spirited UCC team in their O’Connor Cup Semi Final with a late and fortunate goal from Lindsey Peat proving crucial as the Dublin college secured a victory that they deserved over the course of the match. Goals were key for DIT in the Lynch Cup semi final as they hit 4 on their way to a win against WIT. The attacking power of Amy Murphy, Naoise De Graff and Amy Ring proved too much for the Waterford College who were left to rue too many missed chances with DIT goalkeeper Sinead Kellett proving to be particularly difficult obstacle on their path to goal. Trinity secured their passage to the final of the Giles Cup thanks to a 6 goal display in their battle with IT Tralee. The Dubliners didn’t have it their own way though as the Kerry college scored 3:07 but in the end Trinity had that bit too much quality as they secured a 6:14 to 3:07 victory. The other 3 semi finals in all competitions will be played this afternoon. Share this Article 0 0
