A Chairde, It is with profound sadness and a sense of immense shock and disbelief we learnt the sad news on Saturday night of the sudden and untimely death of our dear friend, Jarlath Finnegan. As Chairperson of the Board of Dublin Ladies Football, I express the sincere condolences of my Executive colleagues and all the members of the Dublin Co. Board to Jarlath’s widow, Geraldine and their young family at this time of immense sadness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of immeasurable grief and profound sadness. We are deeply indebted to Jarlath for his loyal support of Dublin Ladies Football throughout the years. We will fondly remember Jarlath’s contribution as Selector on the Dublin Minor Ladies Team of 2004-2005 and the part he played in restoring the Leinster crown to Dublin following a 15 year wait. Throughout his career, Jarlath was a truly dedicated player, mentor and manager who encouraged all who came in contact with him in a positive and constructive manner. He was kind and compassionate and was true to the spirit and tradition of our Gaelic Games. We extend our sincere sympathies to his extended family and the members of CLG Ratheny and Fingallians to whom he gave such dedicated service. Go dtuga Dia suaimhneas siorraí dá anam uasle.
