Kerry, Mayo, Cork and Dublin Name Teams

The final two TG4 Senior All Ireland Quarter Finals take place this Saturday in Birr when Kerry meet Mayo and Dublin take on Cork. These two matches have the potential to be absolute classics with evenly matched teams having a lot at stake in their quest to reach the 40th All Ireland Final on September 29th. Kerry will look to player like Aislinn Desmond, and Bernie Breen along with All Star trio of Sarah Houlihan, Cait Lynch and Louise ni Muircheartaigh whilst Mayo will have plenty of experience to call on themselves with the likes of Yvonne Byrne, Noelle Tierney, Clarie Egan, Martha Carter and of course Cora Staunton but both sides have plenty of young guns that will have a lot to say about who will go into the Semi- Final Draw.

Cork have struggled through the championship to date having lost twice to Kerry and receiving a real scare from Armagh in the Quarter Final but they welcome the returning Juliet Murphy to their midfield, they are a team with huge experience in every line of the field but much will be expected of their scoring star Valerie Mulcahy who will be expected to provide the leadership in a relatively young full forward line including Orla Finn and Doireann O’Sullivan. Dublin have had a long break since their Leinster Final success over Meath but they have a team that is full of potential. Siobhan McGrath will provide the leadership to a young defensive line from full back behind a half back line that is full of potential with All Star and captain Sinead Goldrick flanked by Sinead Finnegan and Martha Byrne. Much will depend on the performance of Denise Masterson and Amy McGuinness in the middle of the field whilst the match could hinge on the performance of the Dublin Full Forward line that has been deadly dangerous to date.
