Kevin McCrystal to take over as manager of Tyrone's Senior Ladies Footballers

Kevin McCrystal will take over as manager of the Tyrone senior ladies and is planning to get started right away.

For the Carrickmore man, this will be a second term in the high profile role. Having been in charge for a spell in the early 2000s, he replaces Gerry Moane, who guided Tyrone to the TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate title in 2018, during his five years in charge.

McCrystal and his backroom team have been given a three year term and he confirmed they are keen to get the ball rolling.

“I am delighted to be appointed and there are great foundations there already, I just want to take Tyrone to the next level and I would hope to talk to the girls as soon as possible with plans in place to get started as soon as we are given the green light,” he said.

Kevin comes into the job after a season with Castlederg St Eugene’s in the Tyrone all-county league, previously guiding the county’s under 14s to an all Ireland title. The new manager, with twenty years experience, also spent three seasons working as development officer in the county, again achieving massive success with the development of a Summer camp and the academy structure.

County Chairperson Donna McCrory confirmed her delight at the appointment and wished Kevin and his backroom team the very best of good luck.

“Kevin is experienced and we welcome his appointment, he has a massive job but we are confident he will be up for the challenge of senior football for us,” McCrory said.
