Kieran Kilkenny confirmed as new Sligo Senior team manager

Sligo Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) is delighted to confirm the appointment of Kieran Kilkenny as the new Senior Team Manager. A native of Leitrim, Kilkenny has a distinguished coaching career that spans both domestic and international experience, including roles in England and Australia. He was officially ratified at the Sligo County Board meeting held last night.
Kilkenny is no stranger to success in Sligo, having been part of the coaching team that guided the Sligo minor ladies to an All-Ireland B title victory in July of this year. Kieran is currently managing the St. Nathys Senior Ladies team, who are on the verge of an extraordinary seventh consecutive Senior Championship title.
Speaking about the appointment, Chairperson of Sligo LGFA Martin Seery said:  “We are thrilled to appoint Kieran Kilkenny as our Senior Manager. His proven track record, both internationally and locally, as well as his recent success with the minors, makes him an excellent choice to lead the senior team. We are confident that his experience and leadership will inspire our players and bring great success in the years to come.”
Kieran Kilkenny expressed his excitement about the new role: “It is a tremendous honour to be appointed Senior Manager of Sligo LGFA. The opportunity to work with such talented players at both club and county levels is something I am incredibly passionate about. My experience with the Sligo minors and St. Nathys has been rewarding, and I look forward to building on that success as we aim to compete at the highest level.”
Sligo LGFA looks forward to a new era of development and success under Kieran Kilkenny’s leadership and wish him the very best of luck going forward.
