Kildare too strong for Dublin Juniors

Dublin Info:

The Dublin Junior team bowed out of the Tg4 Leinster Junior championship
yesterday at the hands of a Kildare team who where simply too good
for this Dublin team indeed way too good for any team in the Leinster
Junior championship. Kildare have now qualified for the sixth consecutive
Leinster final and will be red hot favourites to win their fifth
Leinster title.

Kildare got the start that Dublin would have wanted and where 1-2
up before Dublin registered their first score courtesy of Lorena
Aver. Dublin’s problems increased when they lost right half back
Nichola Murphy after she suffered an ankle injury. Kildare continued
to score at will with corner forward Simone Gilabert and full forward
Tracy Noone in superb form. Dublin added two further points to their
tally after Dublin captain Vivienne Naughton slotted home two 13
metre frees. The half time score read Dublin 0-03 Kildare 2-09

Dublin battled hard in the second half with good performances from
Patricia Gordon, Avril Cluxton, Louise Kidd, Denise Masterson, Ann
Clarke and Sinead Finnegan however try as they might Dublin had
no one to match the skill and talent of Kildare’s Brianne Leahy,
Elaine Dillon, Julie Cunningham and Simone Gilabert. So after eight
months of training, six championship matches, six National League
matches, endless challenge games the Dublin Junior team’s season
came to an end at the hands of a Kildare team who are a good enough
to play and compete at senior level but who will now play in their
sixth “Junior Leinster” final and in that final they will play Wexford
a team who last season played senior championship……
