Kildares Hard work finally pays off

KILDARE finally made the step up to Senior level
after losing two Junior finals with a victory
that should have been far more comprehensive than
the five-point margin suggested only for a spirited
second half comeback by Sligo. Kildare have dominated
the Junior game without making the breakthrough
and their form on Sunday suggests they will be
a competitive force in Leinster next season and
may follow Donegal’s paths by making the last
eight. Recent Junior winners like Donegal and
Galway have made an instant impact at Senior level
and there is no reason why Kildare cannot follow
suit.

In Noelle Earley, Elaine Dillon and Tracey Noone
they possess forwards capable of troubling any
defence.

For a young Sligo team, Sunday will have been
massively disappointing for their travelling support
and while it is extremely difficult to come out
of Junior level, the last few years show that
teams who work hardest get their just reward.
