Our Tommy and Teresa Cox sponsored adult men’s team defeated Padraig Pearses in the first round of the Junior A championship on Saturday evening last in Kilglass. Final score Kilglass Gaels 3-08 Padraig Pearses 0-07. Well done to team and management. Our senior ladies headed to Loughglynn on Sunday morning to play Eire Óg in their final game of the league. This game was relegation game in all respects with the winners holding their division 1 status for 2016 and losers being relegated to division 2. The standard of football played by both sides was of a high standard and the players left everything on the pitch. Eire Óg ran out eventual winner’s, final score Kilglass Gaels 1-12 Eire Óg 1-15. Eddie defeated club mate John Coggeran 15-7, 15-5 in an all-action final. It was the first adult county title won for Kilglass in Handball. Eddie had earlier beaten the favoured MIke Holland 10-15, 15-14, 11-7 in a very tough match, before defeating Francis Galvin 15-9, 15-6 in the semi-final. John had beaten Mick Egan and fellow Kilglass player Tom Reynolds on his way to the final. Eddie will now represent Roscommon at the Connacht Championship at Breaffy House in June. Congratulations also to Adam Coggeran, Thomas Mahady, Aaron Hughes and Darragh Mc Donnell on receiving bronze medals in the Roscommon Community Games One Wall Handball competition.
