KILKERRIN-Clonberne retained their currentaccount.ie All-Ireland Senior Club 7s title on Saturday. The Galway side, who are also the reigning currentaccount.ie All-Ireland Senior club champions, were in imperious form at the annual event held at the Naomh Mearnóg and St Sylvester’s clubs in Dublin. Kilkerrin-Clonberne racked up big totals during the group stages and after accounting for Armagh’s Clann Éireann in the semi-finals, they enjoyed a 4-10 to 1-7 victory against Leitrim opponents Glencar-Manorhamilton in the Final. With the Noone sisters, Hannah, Eva and Lynsey, spearheading a Kilkerrin-Clonberne side that also contained the Ward twins, Nicola and Louise, Kilkerrin-Clonberne were 2-7 to 1-3 clear at half-time, with Lynsey Noone and Caitlin Boyle grabbing the first half goals. Further goals followed in the second half from Eva Noone and Nicola Ward, as Kilkerrin-Clonberne closed out a comfortable win. This win marks a fourth Senior Club 7s title for Kilkerrin-Clonberne, following previous successes in 2014, 2016 and 2022. In the Senior Shield Final, last year’s beaten Cup finalists, Tipperary outfit Fethard, got the better of Roscommon’s Clann na Gael by 5-6 to 2-6. The Intermediate Cup Final was won by Shelmalier of Wexford, with Galway outfit Bearna collecting the Intermediate Shield. And in the Junior Cup and Shield competitions respectively, there were victories for Galway’s Grainne Mhaols and Walterstown from Meath. Share this Article 0 0
