17 March 2006 Ladies All-Stars in St Patrick's Day parade Share this Article 0 0 0 Shares! 0 Shares! The TG4 O’Neill’s Ladies Football All Stars touring party were handed pride of place in the country’s first ever St Patrick’s Day parade yesterday. Unlike most St Patrick’s Day parades in Ireland, the sun was out in Singapore yesterday as the country celebrated the occasion by hosting a parade for the first time ever – with the Ladies Football All Stars marching in the procession. All of the players, officials and other members of the touring party took part in the parade, which was the climax of a special Irish themed weekend, in Singapore’s Boat Quay yesterday. The players had spent the previous night at a gathering to watch the Ireland rugby team play England in the Six Nations – with the game starting at 1.30am local time in Singapore. They will visit local schools again tomorrow for coaching sessions with the pupils – many of whom turned out on Saturday to watch the 2004 All Star team beat their 2005 counterparts.
