Ladies football Summer camp in Grenagh Next week On Monday next at 10am it is the turn of Grenegh and districts to benefit from the Cork Ladies Football Summer camp. This is the 10th year of the camps which has been instrumental in Cork’s meteoric rise to the top. Since the new Millenium has begun Cork have won 4 under 14, 3 under 16 two minor and one Senior title. The camp in Grenagh runs from July 24-28th from 10am -1pm and Carrigtwohill 2pm-5pm It will be supervised by Charlie McLaughin coach of the Cork under 14, under 16 and Minor teams. The Under 14 team play Laois on Saturday in Cahir in the All-Ireland Semi Final they defeated Donegal in the quarter final at Ballinasloe on a scoreline of 5-10 to 1-0. On Sunday the Minors after scroing a thrilling extra time win over Dublin 5-14 -3-15 at Semple Stadium in Thurles, take on Galway at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick on Sunday at 2pm in the All-Ireland final. Registration for the camp will be taken on the day from all clubs and individuals in the environs of Grenagh and this year boys as well as girls from 6-14 can take part, each participant will get a top quality playing kit, Jersey, Shorts and socks. Charlie will be helped by Cork Senior stars Brid Stack and Geraldine O ‘Flynn as well as minor star Deirdre Cotter. For more info Ring Fr Liam Kelleher at 087-8516984. Earlier this year a ladies football club was founded in Grenagh, and the club has under 11,12 14 and Junior teams coached by Fr Liam Kelleher. The under 12’s have won all their 4 matches and play next in the Co Quarter finals. while the Juniors make their championship debut against Coursey Rovers in the near future. Share this Article 0 0
