TG4 Senior Ladies Football Championship Semi-final Preview

Cork yet again look like the team to beat so if Laois are to advance to the final they will have to put in a huge performance.  Laois have been impressive all season but the quality of their opposition leaves doubts about their ability to mix it with the all conquering Rebelettes.

A positive start for the Laois forward line is essential as Cork’s defence is miserly at the best of times.  A big performance is needed from Kirwan sisters and 2006 All Star Tracey Lawlor to deny Cork the chance of three senior titles in a row.

Cork’s midfield of Juliet Murphy and Norita Kelly has been in superb form and with Valerie Mulcahy back to her best up front aided by Mary O’Connor and Nollaig Cleary, Cork should march on.

TG4 Intermediate Football Championship Semi-final Preview

Tipperary own the bragging rights going into this tie having beaten Wexford early on in the season.  But it was Wexford who went on to contest the NFL final and the Model County can call upon former All Star Leona Tector, who is seen as one of the most talented players in the game.

 

There will be very little between these two sides but Tipperary may just have the edge as confidence will be high having gone unbeaten in the Championship group stages. Tipp to progress but it will be a battle.
